Perhaps more easily than what the final score shows, CSKA Moscow beat Unics Kazan 85 – 74 on the road and remained at the top of the EuroLeague standings with a 21 – 7 record.
Backed by the raving action of their… “Splash Bros”, Milos Teodosic (12 points and as many assists) and Nando De Colo (22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) the defending champs controlled most aspects of the game from start to finish.
Keith Langford dropped 17 points, Anton Ponkrashov tied his points season high in points with 16 and set a new one in assists with 7. Art Parakhouski scored 14 and got 8 boards for the Kazan team that suffered its 21th loss in the season and is last in the standings.
CSKA was aggressive right from the start taking a 18 – 25 lead at the end of the first quarter and closing halftime up by eleven, 33 – 44.
The hosts got their engines running on the offensive end by dropping 24 in the third period but their opponents were simply too much, answering with 30. With the score 57 – 74 before the final stretch, CSKA simply preserved its lead without sweating a lot.
