The hosts prevailed (73-67) thanks to their performance during the first eight minutes of the third period, when they got a partial 22-8 score and build a 59-47 lead. Galatasaray made their comeback and with 18 seconds left in the game was trailing by four (71-67), however they couldn’t get any closer.
Will Clyburn (15 p.) and of course Brad Wanamaker (22 p.) led the charge for the winners, controlled the game and their team remains on the hunt of the last open playoffs spot, hoping to “steal” it from Crvena Zvezda. The Turks have a 14-14 record, which is not good enough at the moment for something more than the 9th place in the standings.
Galatasaray managed to lead at the end of the first quarter (18-16) and also at half time (39-37), but didn’t have any answer in the defensive intensity of Darussafaka Dogus as they scored just five points in the last five minutes of the third (61-52).
Galatasaray made it a five points game (66-61) in a messy last quarter from both sides and despite the fact that Darussafaka entered the last minute with a 70-61 lead, the guests fought until the end. Vladimir Micov with 17 points and Austin Daye with 11 did their best for the losing side. The only real news from Galatasaray’s game is that Blake Schilb and Emir Preldzic are back in the rotation of the team.
