It had been almost four years since Danilo Andjusic last played in EuroLeague before returning to the competition this season after signing with Unics Kazan this February.
The Serbian guard was then a member of Partizan Belgrade with which he participated in seven games of the EuroLeague regular season.
Now, he’s back to Belgrade to face Crvena Zvezda, Partizan’s arch-rival team, no less. It’s a game that holds huge importance for Red Star that wants to win to increase its chances of advancing to the EuroLeague playoffs. Unics, on the other hand, had been eliminated from the postseason weeks ago and wants to win only for reasons of prestige.
Andjusic tweeted that he “can’t wait” to get back to his hometown, even though he will probably… not be greeted really warmly by Crvena Zvezda fans. Not only because he plays for the opposing team but also for his Partizan past.
First time playing @EuroLeague in Serbia, since I was in @PartizanBC ! Can’t wait to be back in my city! ??Let’s get this win @unicsbasket ? pic.twitter.com/2O0X4eo1Jw
