Following Sito Alonso’s comments regarding the “lack of respect” shown to Baskonia, CSKA Moscow head coach Dimitris Itoudis replied by saying that his team also deserves to be respected.
“When we took the 14+ lead and their secondary unit came off the bench as a last option, my players and ball handlers didn’t only have pressure,” Itoudis said. “They had always hands on them on the level of foul and I think we deserve some more respect, like everybody says. Everyone says ‘the best team in Europe, the best team in Europe’ but then they ask for respect. So we deserve respect as well! My guys respect too. When the game comes closer they ask for respect.
