With the deal between Fenerbahce and Dogus all but official, the EuroLeague champs are the front runners for getting Wanamaker, according to Eurohoops sources. To be exact, despite having a contract for next season, with the financial situation changing for the team, coach Blatt leaving and Darussafaka competing in Eurocup, Wanamaker will follow Dogus and play for Fenerbahce.
What can change that? In his his current contract, Wanamaker has an NBA buy-out option until the 15th of July. If he gets the right offer from the NBA, the 27-year-old guard can return to the States after seven seasons. If not, then Fenerbahce is waiting for him with open arms.
After all, Fenerbahce is also preparing for the possibility of Bogdan Bogdanovic leaving the team for the NBA.
