The efforts of Zalgiris to keep Sarunas Jasikevicius at the helm paid off and the legendary Lithuanian will remain in Kaunas.
As 15min.lt reported, Jasikevicius has agreed to an offer of €500.000 per season. It’s a record salary for the standards of Lithuanian basketball and will make him the highest-paid coach in the history of Zalgiris Kaunas.
According to the report, Jasikevicius is already working with General Manager Paulius Motiejunas for planning the new season. The club is now hoping that Jasikevicius’ renewal will make it easier to keep some of key players in the roster such as French point guard Leo Westermann.
