According to “Walla” the final meeting of the club with David Blatt was just more than short, with Blatt announcing that he will not join the club.
Meanwhile Maccabi went to the meeting not only hoping that they had a deal with the coach, but also they had the contracts with them ready to be signed. As it turned out Blatt was not eager to return to the club, Israeli tax laws may have played a role in his decision and Darussafaka was not going to stop him, since the Turkish club is not demanding any kind of buy out.
It remains to be seen what will be the future of Blatt, however the question now is if Maccabi Tel Aviv has a realistic chance to sign Spahija, also a former coach of the team.
