Nocioni made the announcement himself via twitter and at his 37 years of age his basketball career is over.
He was a two-time All-EuroLeague selection before spending eight seasons in the NBA, from 2004 to 2012. Nocioni won a EuroLeague title in 2015 with Real Madrid, earning also the EuroLeague Final Four MVP award.
A regular member of the Argentine national team, Nocioni was a part of the team that won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He also helped the Argentine national team to win the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 2002 FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis.
He has played in Argentina for Olimpia Venado Tuerto and Independiente de General Pico, before coming to Europe for Baskonia – then called Tay Ceramica -in 1999 and staying until 2004, when he was signed by the Chicago Bulls where he spend five season. In the summer of 2010 he ended up in Sacramento and after a season in the West he returned to the East for Philadelphia until 2012.
He ended his career in Europe, first with Baskonia (2012-14) and then with Real Madrid (2014-17). He has also won three Spanish League champions title, four Spanish cups, one Spanish Supercopa and he was ACB MVP in 2004.
