After successfully closing the open cases of Giorgos Printezis and Vangelis Mantzaris, who both signed new contracts with the team, Olympiacos proceeds to a new addition ahead of the upcoming season.
According to Eurohoops sources, the Reds are finalizing a two-year deal with Latvian combo guard Janis Strelnieks. The player has one season remaining in contract with Brose Bamberg but the Greek club is ready to pay the necessary buyout to acquire him.
Strelnieks, 27, also has offers from Lokomotiv Kuban and Khimki Moscow but prefers the option of Olympiacos to continue his career.
The international Latvian player comes off the best season of his career in EuroLeague (11.7 p.p.g. 3.5 a.p.g, 2.2 r.p.g.) and is well known from his lethality (45.9% in 2016/2017) from the perimeter.
