The point guard is probably the most important position in any roster and after a mediocre season Tyrese Rice, despite having a contract, may not have a future with the club.
On the contrary Larkin proved with Baskonia that he belongs to the top level of point guards in Europe and Alonso would love to have him with him also in Barcelona.
Larkin is a free agent and this makes things simple, even if it seems more than probably that adding Larkin will also mean releasing and compensating Rice.
On the other hand, however, Barcelona is at least at the moment the only top team that has a strong interest for Larkin and the player doesn’t like the idea of playing in Turkey. Things can change, of course, if Milos Teodosic leaves CSKA Moscow for the NBA.
