Despite the initial reports about Gentile staying with the team, it turns out that things have not change. According to Eurohoops sources, despite the hiring of coach Simone Pianigiani who worked with Gentile at Hapoel Jerusalem – from where the Italian guard also left without contributing much – the decision of the club remains the same.
As “Gazzetta Dello Sport” reported, Milano will try to loan him again to an other team, however if this can’t happen, then Gentile will be compensated and released. It’s not what you would expect for the most talented Italian player of his generation and one of the best scorers in Europe, still Gentile and Milano can’t coexist any more.
Not counting Gentile, Milano has already 10 contracts for next season, five Italian players (Cinciarini, Abass, Fontecchio Pascolo and Cerella) and five foreigners (Young, Kalnietis, Simon, Tarczewski, Dragic).
