Barcelona is about to make Shane Larkin what can be considered as “an offer he can’t refuse”: A €5 million (gross income), two-year deal, as Spanish AS reported.
Once the offer is officially presented (the deadline expires in July 9), Baskonia has five days to match this number in order to keep the American guard in its roster, according to the rules of “tanteo”. Yet the figures of this proposal are quite possibly well above the reach of the Basques.
Barcelona head coach Sito Alonso has been wooing Larkin since he arrived in the Blaugrana. They had a successful cooperation last year during which the 24-year-old player was hailed as one of the top guards in EuroLeague, averaging 13.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 2.7 rebounds in his rookie year in the continent.
