Crvena Zvezda officially announced that the team won’t continue with Dejan Radonjic as head coach.
The club had made it abundantly clear how much it wanted to move to the next season with the Montenegrin coach retaining his position. However that won’t be the case after all.
With Radonjic at the helm in the last four years, Red Star celebrated three ABA League, three Serbian league and three Serbian Cup titles while making it to the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time in the history of the franchise during the 2015/2016 season.
In the related announcement, Crvena Zvezda expressed its gratitude towards Radonjic for the aforementioned successes.
Radonjic is the fifth key Crvena Zvezda member departing from the team following Luka Mitrovic (Brose Bamberg), Marko Simonovic (Zenit St. Petersburg), Marko Guduric (Fenerbahce) and Charles Jenkins (Khimki Moscow) and Stefan Jovic (Bayern Munich).
