Maccabi Tel Aviv is reported as “on the verge of signing a two-year deal” with American forward DeShaun Thomas, according Roey Gladstone of Israeli Sports 5 network.
Thomas became a free agent after Anadolu Efes decided to opt out of the 1+1 contract the player penned last summer. He finished the previous season averaging 7.3 points plus 1.7 rebounds in 14 minutes per game.
Maccabi is undergoing an overhaul following the arrival of new head coach Neven Spahija and there might be some vacant positions in the line of forwards. Victor Rudd won’t continue with the “Yellows” and there are team options in the contracts of Victor Alexander and Quincy Miller. Both players’ status in next season’s roster is considered as highly questionable.
