Matt Lojeski was “cut” by Barcelona after failing his medical examinations, as reported by AS and Catalonian Esport 3.
The 32-year-old swingman was considered a primary option by Barcelona in order to replace Brad Oleson in next season’s roster but a potential signing was ultimately ruled out.
Lojeski, who also carries a Belgian passport, missed the last months of his previous season with Olympiacos after suffering an injury in his Achilles’ tendon during a home defeat to Real Madrid for the 29th round of the EuroLeague regular season. A problem which apparently remains persistent.
Maccabi Tel Aviv, Brose Bamberg and Panathinaikos had also set eyes on the 2015 and 2016 Greek League champion with Olympiacos and one of the top wing players in EuroLeague these years.
