The 36-year-old forward is a free agent and he will not extend his cooperation with the club for which he first played when he was 16 years old.

According to the press release: “Panathinaikos BC Superfoods announces the end of its cooperation with Antonis Fotsis. We would like to thanks Antonis for everything that he has offered the team and wish him the best for the future of his career. Fotsis has linked his name with great moments with the green shirt and won 19 titles, so he will forever be an integral part of Panathinaikos‘ history and family”.

Fotsis was the most talented Greek forward of his generation, a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, a three time EuroLeague champion and also a member of Real Madrid, Dynamo Moscow and EA7 Emporio Armani Milano. He was also a member of the Greek national team that won the Eurobasket 2005 and the silver medal in the FIBA World Cup of 2006.

He goes by the nickname “Batman” since his adolescent years, when his teammates at the junior national teams named him after the well-known comic-strip figure, because of his ability to be an overwhelmingly gliding presence above the basketball rim.
