Panathinaikos officially announced the transfer of Greek power forward Mitoglou, usually called Dinos in the States. The now former Wake Forest player signed a four-year deal with the Greek club.
Mitoglou, 21, played college basketball with the Wake Forest Deacon Demons during the three previous years during which he totaled 9.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. During 2013/2014 participated in three Greek League games with Aris Thessaloniki, before moving to the USA to join Wake Forest.
With his signing, Panathinaikos doesn’t only make an investment for the future of the team but strengthens the build of a new core of domestic players, following also the arrival of Zach Auguste. This has been described numerous times as one of PAO’s primary goals by club executives.
Next season will mark Kostas Mitoglou’s debut in EuroLeague. His acquisition by Panathinaikos also brought an… Instagram trolling “scuffle” between the Greens and arch-rival Olympiacos.
