Khimki Moscow defeated Brose Bamberg 77 – 75 in overtime for the first game of the “Zadar Basketball Tournament”, an annual preparation tourney taking place in Zadar, Croatia.
The Russian team dominated the boards (43 -27), scoring 15 second-chance points after 12 offensive rebounds.
Anthony Gill dropped a game-high 18 points (10/11 from the line) and grabbed 6 rebounds for the winning squad. Tyler Honeycutt added a double-double of 10 points plus 12 rebounds while James Anderson posted 15 points.
For the Bavarians, Luka Mitrovic notched 15 points and Bryce Taylor 13.
Brose Bamberg faces EuroLeague reigning champion Fenerbahce tomorrow (22/9) and Khimki plays the Turkish team on Saturday (23/9).
