Nick Calathes is no longer the captain of Panathinaikos, while he was punished with a fine along with KC Rivers, Chris Singleton and James Gist for violating the team’s rules during their stay in Moscow.

After the game against Khimki in Moscow the four players returned to the team hotel at 3 a.m. violating the curfew.

A heavy fine was imposed on all four players and it was also decided that Calathes will not be able to be any longer the team captain.

This is not the first time that Panathinaikos takes the spotlight for such an incident. The infamous “bus incident” from last year is still remembered and while it happened after the team failed to qualify to the EuroLeague Final Four, according to the club there were also disciplinary reasons behind this action. Some of the players fined in Moscow were accused of breaking curfew many times during last season.
