Panathinaikos is facing Barcelona for the first round of 2017-18 EuroLeague and James Gist talked about his long journey with the Greek team.
”It meant to be here. σιχ years ago, Panathinaikos tried to recruit me but I ended up in Malaga. Eventually, I was part of a trade and since then I am grateful for all this”.
This year’s goal for Gist is quite clear and definite: ”I was to win the EuroLeague. I don’t want just to go to the Final Four, I want to take advantage of being there”.
The new format of the EuroLeague is by far the best, for the teams and the fans, according to the American forward: ”I like it personally. It shows who the best team is. Before, EuroLeague had groups. If you could win some certain games, you might be able not to play some teams until the end. With the new set up, every team gets the chance to play every team, twice. I like that challenge”.
