Lukas Lekavicius, one of Panathinaikos‘ new acquisitions, talked to Eurohoops about the season ahead, while he feels thankful for his old coach and EuroLeague Legend, Sarunas Jasikevicius.
”Without him, I wouldn’t be here. I respect him, that’s why I took him number (19)”,
Lithuanian guard mentioned that Panathinaikos is athletic and fast, so if they work hard together, they will make it to the Final Four.
He also finds the new EuroLeague format quite intriguing: ”It’s a little bit harder but all teams have the same schedule. We are not going to cry! We will try to win every single game”.
As for the conflict between FIBA and EuroLeague, he didn’t say much, although he expressed his disappointment for not representing his country in the European Qualifiers.
