Coach Dusan Alempijevic was happy about the result and the support of Serbian fans: “Big thanks to our fans, they showed once again that with them anything is possible. It is hard to play for any opponent that comes to this arena. We already reacted well after our first loss. These players leave their egos at home and play for the team. It is a team win, a team that grew up in a matter of days. We have a lot of room for improvement. We will get better through these games, improve through these games. The crowd recognized that, too, supporting us when it got tough. Also, this team does not panic.”
The key reason for the tonight’s victory per coach Alimpijevic was rebounding. “We had an excellent first half, we were concentrated on small details, like boxing out. We had more rebounds than Barcelona, and that is a huge thing for us at this moment.”
The Spanish, coach Sito Alonso, thought this was a good test for his team even if the result was bad. “It has been a good test for us in this environment. In the beginning, we started doing things bad. We did sometimes very good things, got open shots, but when we were losing by 5 or 7 points, the atmosphere in our team was like we were losing by 12 or 14 points and have only 5 or 6 minutes to overcome the deficit.”
