Brose Bamberg recorded their third straight win in Turkish Airlines Euroleague as they beat Zvezda on the road.
It is never easy to play in Belgrade and Andrea Trinchieri knows that.
“This was a very tough game for us. It is never easy to play in this arena. I talked to my players 10 days ago as I told them in order to win we have to suffer and play as a team. This week they understood that and they played a great first quarter. For the rest of the game we played so-so, but tonight that was enough. It is always hard to play against Zvezda and their defense as they have the best defensive player in Branko Lazic. We didn’t allow Zvezda to play their game because we played tough and I am proud”, said Trinchieri.
On the other side, Zvezda’s coach Dusan Alimpijevic didn’t have reasons to be happy. “It is very hard to play an aggressive defense when you are trailing after just a few minutes. We didn’t start the game as we should and we let our opponents to score 30 points in that period. We tried to play the best as we can, but we lacked Pero Antic and his leadership”, Alimpijevic concluded.
