After a close first half, the “Army Team” prevailed with ease as the final score (94-67) suggests.
The players of coach Dimitris Itoudis dominated on both ends of the floor, Cory Higgins did his part with 16 points, but a French guy who played for Valencia in the past was – as usual – the hero of the night.
The star: Nando De Colo had already 23 points by the end of the third quarter, making eight out of his ten shots in the game with a 100% accuracy in three three-pointers attempted. He remains the definition of consistency and he was rested in the fourth period.
Τhe key: The partial score in the third quarter was 30-16 for CSKA. Valencia started the game with an impressive 17-6 run, however, the first quarter ended with the hosts leading 20-19 and with 43-38 at halftime. The third period was all about CSKA and the game was decided at this point as the Russian were up by 19 (73-54).
Valencia couldn’t react and for the first time in the season, the Spanish champs couldn’t stay competitive until the end of a EuroLeague game. Tiber Pleiss with 12 points was their top scorer.
