Unicaja Malaga prevailed over Crvena Zvezda at home with 79-65, registering its first victory against the Serbian club in history.

The Key: The hosts were great on both ends of the floor as they controlled everything from the start to the end. Zvezda didn’t show enough energy and focus to compete with Spaniards.

The home squad was off to a great start thanks to Sasu Salin who was on fire early in the game scoring 12 points in the first quarter. The Finnish player was shooting with excellent accuracy (4/5) from beyond the arc in that period as Unicaja was leading 22-12. After that, it was a one-way situation as the host took a 41-31 lead in the first half and never looked back.

The visiting team tried to make a comeback with a small 5-0 run in the beginning of the second half, but that was far from enough.

The Star: The former Zvezda’s member Nemanja Nedovic was on the roll tonight scoring 17 points and delivering 4 assists.

“It was very special to play against my former club, but I am professional and member of Unicaja so I gave my best tonight”, Nedovic said to press reports after the game.

His countryman Dragan Milosavljevic had a good role as well finishing the game with 12 points and 5 assists.

For the losing side James Feldeine, Taylor Rochestie and Mathias Lessort scored 10 points each.

After this win, Unicaja moved up to a 3-3 score as Zvezda sank to a 2-4.
