Brose Bamberg‘s coach, Andrea Trinchieri, spoke to the press after the game.
In his unique style, he commented: “First quarter was a nightmare. I believe that if I asked one of my players then ‘What’s your name?’ He would have answered the wrong way.”
After a bad first quarter, Bamberg slowly came back in the game: “We were not ready to play. And then we put together a very effective second quarter on defense and then we started believing.”
This wasn’t a miracle, rather than lots of hard work, Trinchieri added: “I don’t believe in miracles. That’s not for basketball; that’s for more important things. I believe that if you work hard and you believe in yourself, you can build opportunities. And that’s what we did, we built opportunities to play this game. And then we believed in ourselves. We made big plays. Basically, everybody helped the team. This is the biggest team win I can imagine, everybody put his name on this win, offense and defense.”
