The Turkish club, which has always been among One Team’s most committed supporters, won awards in three different categories at the prestigious recent MediaCat Felis Awards, which take place every year in Turkey to recognise outstanding work in the field of marketing communications.
There were 3,385 applicants in 117 categories for the awards, which have the aim of showcasing techniques of production, quality and creativity in the various sub-disciplines of marketing communications, the cornerstone of brand building.
And despite facing strong competition Efes took first prize in the ‘Customization and Localisation’ category, following the One Team projects carried out by the club in association with Anadolu Etap and the Koruncuk Foundation during the course of last season.
The award judged how successfully multinational public relations practices were conducted in Turkey, showing how global strategies can be ‘customised’ and ‘localised’ for specific markets through creativity and innovation, and Efes’s work with One Team was strong enough to take first place.
Efes, which has always pursued a strategy of marketing excellence in addition to its sporting exploits, had already received recognition by winning the Euroleague Basketball Devotion Marketing Award and being nominated for the inaugural Best One Team Program Award at the end of last season, which was eventually taken by Zalgiris Kaunas.
Abigail Martin, Euroleague Basketball, Head of CSR & Development Projects said: “We would like to congratulate Efes for their success at the MediaCat Felis Awards, which we are sure is very well deserved.
“Efes carries out some wonderful work with One Team and was a very strong candidate for the Best One Team Program award, coming very close to winning the inaugural first prize. We are greatly looking forward to continuing our work with the club this season.”
The club’s Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager Gokce Dayu added: “Two of our missions are to increase the brand value of Turkish basketball and provide benefits to society. One Team is one of our most important activities and we are absolutely delighted to have won Felis with the Koruncuk and Mico projects that we carried out last season. Witnessing our projects achieve successful outcomes also motivates us for new initiatives.”
One Team, supported by Turkish Airlines as the One Team Founding Patron and with the collaboration of Special Olympics as Proud Partner, uses basketball to achieve meaningful social impact in our communities across Europe and is supported by every club in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup.
Since its founding in 2012, the One Team program has already helped more than 14,000 participants through its various team-focussed projects.
