In the battle of two Italian coaches, it was Simone Pianigiani’s team which was stronger tonight as AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan beat Brose Bamberg at home 71-62.

It was a great show in Milano as the home team was able to come back from an 11 point deficit in order to win the game. The Italians completed their perfect week in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague as they beat Valencia on Wednesday also after a comeback despite missing one of their stars, Andrew Goudelock, for the first time due to his injury.

Bamberg thanks to a 12-2 run in the end of the first period got the advantage and built a 35-27 halftime lead. They stopped Armani’s offense as the Italians were unable to score from the field in the last four minutes of the first half. Bryce Talyor was keeping the distance for the quests as he scored 7 points in the second quarter.

The turning point: Brose Bamberg run out of fuel in the last quarter and Milan was ready to use that as they made a 19-0 run down the last stretch making an amazing comeback.

The Star: Mantas Kalnietis was red hot in the last period of the match as he scored 10 points and led his team to the win. His teammate Curtis Jerrells added 7 points in that period as he finished the game with 12.

Dorell Wright’s 12 points and 6 rebounds were not enough for the visitors. After this win, Armani moved to a 3-5 record and Bamberg fell down to a 4-4.
