This will be the Jubilee 20th time that Baskonia and Fenerbahce meet in European competition with the hosts leading their head-to-head series 13-6. Both teams are in the top form as they won their last two games in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.
“It’s a big game and it motivates us. These are the games we like to play and that’s what we work for, to play at the most demanding level. What I like the most about Fenerbahce is that they defend really well. They have many resources given by their enormous quality and the time they have been together. We must have the biggest respect for them, but we have to be calm and ambitious because we can win this game,” said Baskonia head coach Pedro Martinez.
The Spanish side made the complete turnaround when Martinez was appointed as a head coach since they won three straight games in the Euroleague.
Zeljko Obradovic is well aware of that.
“Like everybody who likes basketball, this will be a good game. Baskonia plays really well after their coach change. I expect a good game. They have quality and play like a team. They play aggressively in offense and defense. They run the court and it’s easy to score for them. I think it’s easy to recognize that they are in a good moment and that they play good basketball. All their players know their role.”, said Zeljko Obradovic.
