Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul got the easy win on the road against Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz and improved its record to 7-3 and Zoc reminded everyone that things were not like that last year: “I believe that last year we played our worse game here in Vitoria. Everybody had this in our minds. We had to show character, playing against an aggressive team, but I believe that the key to the game was the aggressiveness we had in our defense. In the second half, we played the same way defensively and smart offensively. We shared the ball, we played with many passes but in every game, we have to find some ways to be better. Congratulations to my team for the win and also to my colleague, coach Pedro Martinez for everything he’s done so far for Baskonia.’
Baskonia’s coach Pedro Martinez shared his thoughts on the game: ‘It was a difficult game for us. I think we started the game having a good rhythm, we made three-point shots, we shared the basketball, but after the first 10 minutes we had many problems attacking the basketball as well as in defense. In the second quarter we had many turnovers, allowed many rebounds and in the second half, everything was worse. We did not play at the level we have to play to compete.’
