Two problems for Olympiacos ahead of Real Madrid but also some good news.

Olympiacos announced that forward Dimitris Agravanis won’t play in Friday’s (8/12) game against Real Madrid for Round 11 of the EuroLeague regular season while forward Ioannis Papapetrou is doubtful.

Agravanis had to exit Tuesday’s (6/12) practice after suffering a quadriceps tendon bruise. This is the third consecutive EuroLeague match he’ll miss since he was also out in the Reds’ road victories over Olimpia Milano and Valencia.

Meanwhile, Papapetrou left today’s training session due to muscle spam on his right adductor. His status ahead of the match vs the “Blancos” is listed as “doubtful”.

The positive news for Olympiacos arrived with guard Vangelis Mantzaris who completed today’s training program. He had been out due to a persistent problem with an edema on his left foot sesamoid bone.

Real Madrid isn’t without absences too since they have been struggling with an immense injury plague, that has hurt their frontline. Apart from the problems with big guys Ognjen Kuzmic (out for the season) and Gustavo Ayon (out for four months), Anthony Randolph will stay sidelined vs the Greek team.

Pablo Laso is hoping to see swingman Jeff Taylor returning after staying out in the two previous EuroLeague games, the losses to Panathinaikos on the road and Crvena Zvezda in Madrid.

Olympiacos stands at an 8-2 record while Real Madrid is 5-5.
