Not only was Kyle Wiltjer a starter in last night’s Euroleague game of Olympiacos against CSKA Moscow but also made the most out of it by providing an immediate contribution to his team’s offense.
The Canadian power forward helped set up the tone for the Reds with 6 points via 2/2 3-pointers plus 5 rebounds in the first 8 minutes. He finished with 8 points, five boards, and 1 assist in 18 minutes while an injury-plagued Olympiacos beat the “Army Men” to climb at the top spot in the standings.
This performance arrived one week after scoring 10 vs Brose Bamberg in a loss. But on Wednesday, the season-high 18 minutes he spent on the floor and the numbers he produced, were combined with a win.
As Wiltjer told Eurohoops, this is just the beginning and we should expect from him further improvement and even more buckets from downtown in the future.
