Ergin Ataman coached his second EuroLeague match with Anadolu Efes this season and has already spotted some in-game issues that need to be solved urgently. If needed, with new faces arriving on the team’s roster.

When the Turkish coach was asked about the possibility of new transfers, during the post-game presser following the loss to Olympiacos, he said the following: “We had a practice in Russia. Then we played the match, we came here and we did a shoot-out and a tactical training. I watched the last three games of Efes live. I saw some serious malfunctions. I will share them with the management. But there is no decision made for the moment”

Regarding the game in general, Ataman commented that “We did not start well. We missed shots and gave away easy baskets. Then we took control of the game. In the second, third and fourth quarters we dominated the game and played excellent defense. Our strategy worked tonight. Especially in the second half, we had a great defense, but we missed a lot of fast breaks, a lot of easy layups. we attempted 20 three-point shots and 15 of those were correct shots. We missed open shots, we gave some stupid offensive rebounds after free throws. Then everybody missed, Spanoulis came to the game, he made two three-pointers and they won. We’re very upset because tonight Efes played with hustle, our fans were great and it was bad luck that we lost.”
