During the Brose Bamberg – Zalgiris Kaunas game in Germany, coach Saras Jasikevicius was furious with his players and after the game, he and his opponent, interim coach Ilias Kantzouris, shared their thoughts on the game.
“First of all I would like to wish Andrea (Trinchieri) a speedy recovery; this is the most important thing in our lives. I want to congratulate Bamberg. They were hungrier. It is something that I can’t say about my team, it bothers me and I don’t want to lose games this way, but tonight we did not deserve to win”, said Jasikevicius.
On the other hand coach, Kantzouris was happy from the result: “In the first half, we had some problems, especially with Milaknis. We reacted as a team, the guys did a great job covering each other, and the win belongs to them. It is a good step for the team, we need to remain humble. We have a tough schedule ahead of us with two tough teams. We have to rest, and try to be even better starting from tomorrow’s practice.”
He also commented on Barcelona’s team: “They lost a tough game against Panathinaikos last week. They have made many changes, but they are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and we need to go there, try our best and fight on every possession.”
On Rubit’s game and if he was the reason the team won, Katzouris added: “We got something from everyone. We don’t have to consider someone special because he scored many points. It does not matter who scores, what matters is the team effort, and this is what coach Trinchieri has done all season long.”
