The Greek coach admitted in the press conference that he wanted such a reaction: “I think we had a very good reaction after the previous EuroLeague game. We were very aggressive defensively, and we ran the open court and scored a lot of easy points. And from the other side, I think in the second half our defense improved even more. We allowed only 24 points in the second half, and offensively we had a very balanced game. We played all together, everybody was sharing the ball, moving the ball, and finding the best option to shoot. We had 26 assists and only 9 turnovers. Now we fly to Moscow to play Khimki. We forget this game tonight and focus on Khimki. I want to thank the fans who came. Home games are important, and we want the fans to come and support the team.”
From his side, Maccabi‘s coach Neven Spahija wants also his team to focus on the next game as soon as possible: ” I would like to congratulate Olympiacos on the amazing win and playing better basketball tonight. Only one team existed tonight. It was our worst game this season. Whatever we tried we couldn’t do. We were soft; they were very, very aggressive. And they deserved to win like they won. During the game, we realized we don’t have any chance, and we gave up on the starters. We put in bench players who played more than usual. We were thinking about the minutes and how to share the minutes, thinking about the game against Crvena Zvezda.”
