In what was a tough fight, Zalgiris Kaunas prevailed over Valencia Basket and got an important win. After the game coaches Jasikevicius and Vidorreta shared their thoughts.
Valencia‘s coach Txus Vidorreta commented on why Zalgiris is tough to beat, especially this year: “They are a great physical team. They have the chance to compete in every position. They use many different defenses during the game. Of course, Kevin Pangos is one of the keys to Zalgiris‘ success, as he is a very good point guard. The team’s chemistry is also something that everyone sees, as well as the great job Saras is doing. When you have the chance to build something for 2-3 years it is easier to compete in these type of games.”
Vidorreta added for the game: “Congrats to Zalgiris for the game and the amazing season they are having. It is very important for someone who loves basketball to have these kinds of atmospheres in games. It was a tough game. We had a bad start to the game. We fought to come back, we had the chance to win the game. Our effort was outstanding, but we did not have the final happy ending we would like to have. We have to know that it is really important to start the game off better”.
On the other hand co, ch Saras Jasikevicius stated that the team is happy but has to keep going: “It was a great win for us. Hopefully, we will keep going. The results are something we can be happy about these past seven days.”
