With French center Kevin Seraphin staying sidelined for a longer period than originally estimated, it’s quite possible for Barcelona to add an extra big body to its roster.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the “Blaugrana” don’t rule out signing a center if Seraphin’s injury is proven to be serious enough to keep him out for the foreseeable future. The management of the club has been scanning the market with a particular interest in players currently in the Chinese League.
Seraphin, who averages, 12.9 points and 4.9 rebounds in EuroLeague, got injured on his right knee prior to the game against CSKA Moscow on January 4. While it initially looked like a sprain, there are concerns that it might be something more serious.
“We’re going to see his (Seraphin) evolution,” Barcelona Sports Director Nacho Rodriguez said. “In three or four days we will know how Kevin is going. It’s obvious that he’s a very important player for us. We’ll have to see his situation and also see and analyze what’s on the market if Kevin’s injury keeps him out for longer.”
