Following his team’s victory over Lavrio for the Greek League, Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos addressed the announcement by EuroLeague Basketball and the opening of a disciplinary proceeding against him.
“Anyone with basic intelligence understands that it’s the victim that is being punished here and not the perpetrator because the perpetrator is the sponsor,” is Giannakopoulos’ statement.
Giannakopoulos had made a controversial post recently on his official Instagram page, that led to EuroLeague Basketball requesting the opening of the disciplinary proceeding before the organization’s Independent Disciplinary Judge.
