Efes head coach Ergin Ataman explained why his team’s woes continue in EuroLeague after being defeated by Unicaja in Malaga:
“We started the game terrible. Soft defense, the offense with unbalanced shots… It’s very difficult for us to motivate the players now because we lost our goal and we are in the last spot on the classification. We have this problem especially on the road. In the second half, we started to play a regular game.We started to make defense and we found good shooting selection offensively. We got tired and Malaga, especially with Waczynski and Milosavljevic, scored extra points“.
On the winning side, Joan Plaza said that the game wasn’t as easy as people could think:
“As always is complicated when you talk about a game like this when you are facing a team which is in the last places. You might think that it is an easy win but it’s not true. Apart from the turnovers, which I think it was scandalous, this was a very positive game for us“.
