Valencia got its fourth consecutive win in EuroLeague at home after defeating Bamberg and Latavious Williams played his first minutes for the “Taronjas”.
His head coach, Txus Vidorreta, told an anecdote about his debut: “When I told him that he had to play he was surprised and I gave him my aggressiveness [he yelled at Williams]. He has helped the team in an important moment. He hasn’t had an anecdotal contribution. He scored his first points, he grabbed rebounds in both ends of the floor. He also had some confusion, he has been out for a long time. It’s been almost eight months since he played his last official game. He is a good role player, a good player getting the rebound and he changes shots.
It has been anecdotal, nothing more. Latavious isn’t ready for this yet. He had to play due to foul problems, but it wasn’t our idea. That’s why he has been surprised“, Vidorreta said.
On the other hand, Ilias Kantzouris focused his speech on the game: “I believe that Valencia deserved to win the game. They had a really good game with really good percentages in three-pointers. We didn’t approach the game defensively as we should. We played for just some small parts of the game. In offense, we didn’t move the ball as we should and we had poor creation“.
