The owner of Panathinaikos mentions with a post on his personal instagram account that the sanction he received from EuroLeague is “illegal”, while he only reacted in order to protect his family.
Giannakopoulos mentions: “The reason for this [sanction] was my so-called outburst after 30.000 fans entered my and my daughter’s instagram accounts and threatened her, along with my wife and son”.
Finally, he notes that he will not abide with the aforementioned ban, due to the reasons he described: “I will not abide with the ban which might result to me having to pay 30-280 thousand euros for every time I watch the club that I invest my time, energy and money”.
