Real Madrid surprisingly announced last Friday (2/3) that Jonas Maciulis will no longer be part of the team. The forward talked to Krepsinis, one of the main media in Lithuania, where he talks about the reasons why he left the Spanish team:
“My patience to be on the bench is over. After the game against Barca, I spoke with the board of directors and we made this decision. I want to play. To find happiness. I left without having any team offer, let see what happens. But I was prepared every day, traveling with the team and did not fulfill my desire to play. ”
On the clubs that are interested in signing him:
“There are some but nothing serious. Some of them called asking the reason because it was something unexpected. I’m alive, training. Real Madrid allowed me to use their gym“.
On not playing the desired minutes:
“You should ask Pablo Laso. I can’t explain it. But I am an old-school player who thinks that the coach always makes the right decision. If the coach wants to explain it to the player, he explains it to him. I expected an explanation, but I did not have any. I got tired of waiting and decided to do something“.
On when he is going to play the remaining of the season:
“I want to play, that’s for sure. I would like it to be at the highest level. We’ll see how many minutes I have. I’ll have to earn them, I understand. I’m interested in playing in a good team that fights for national or international goals, where I can still play this season. I don’t want to play in a team that is fighting for permanence. Maybe I’ll rest the remaining of the season as there are teams that already think about next season. I don’t know yet“.
