The “Army team” completely demolished Unicaja 101-76 at home on in Round 25 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague and CSKA’s coach Dimitris Itoudis was happy for the way his team played, especially in the second half.
“Congrats to my team for the win. We deserved to win tonight as were the better team. We had issues defensively in the first half. I think in the second half we accomplished changing our attitude on the defensive end. We allowed just 33 points in the second half, we were more mobile, and we executed our plays well. We moved the ball well offensively, we had almost 30 assists today, and we had good spacing“, stated Itoudis.
Despite the big win, the Greek coach had compliments for the visitors. “We played against the team that defends well. Unicaja is always competitive, for sure. They won the offensive rebounding battle, but we won the total rebounds and we made progress on the defensive end. I am happy with that”
In the end, Itoudis thanked CSKA fans for their support. “Thanks to the fans, they showed that they support this team and they like the basketball we play. Our first task was to clinch a playoff spot, and once we accomplished that couple weeks ago, now we are on to the next task to get a home-court advantage.”
