In the opening game of Round 26, Real Madrid got the job done against AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano with 88-77.
Facu Campazzo paced Los Blancos to the victory at the Mediolanum Forum with his double-double of 14 points and 11 assists, proving his efficiency given Luka Doncic’s absense.
The 26-year-old Argentinian caused trouble to Milano’s defense and drilled some clutch-like shots, while he also finished the game with six rebounds. Given the Slovenian star’s injury, Campazzo is stepping up for Pablo Laso’s team in the best way possible, with yet another impressive game.
As if that wasn’t enough, he also set a new personal record of assists (his previous one being 9), showcasing the quality of Real’s backcourt.
Adding to Milano’s woes, Gustavo Ayon (15 points) took charge inside the paint, while Jaycee Carroll’s sharp shooting also made things easy for the visitors (12 points).
The Spanish team can set sights to qualify for the playoffs with a win next round (16-10), while Milano’s chances to qualify are very slim (9-17).
