Barca Lassa faces Olympiacos on Thursday (15/3) four Round 26 of the EuroLeague without no less than four players. As coach Svetislav Pesic mentioned, Sasha Vezenkov didn’t travel to Piraeus due to injury and joins Rakim Sanders (shoulder injury), Kevin Seraphin (knee injury) and Adam Hanga (knee injury) in the list of absences. Sanders traveled with the rest of the team to Greece and it’s up to coach Pesic to use him, however, he is not 100% ready yet after one month out of action.
“I don’t know if Vezenkov got injured during the game against Finland, but he was in pain when he came back. He continued playing and training but the pain hasn’t gone away and the doctors have finally decided that it is better to stop,” Pesic explained, per Mundo Deportivo.
The Serbian coach said the following regarding the match against the Greek side: “Olympiacos have now all their players, with Spanoulis, and that’s the reason they are in second place. They are the best defensive team, they only receive 74 points per game, they are second in rebounds, they have won eleven home games, five in a row, and only lost one. They play a very hard basketball, based on defense and athletic intensity. We respect them a lot.”
