Panathinaikos passed with good mark a thought test in his goal to reach the Top 4. Despite the double-digit margin victory on the road, the Greens struggled in the first half as coach Xavi Pascual explained:
“I think it’s very important to play more effectively. When you have open shots and you don’t make them, it looks like you are playing badly. I think we also had six turnovers in the first half. So when you miss your shots and turn the ball over leads to a little score. In the second half, we played much better. I think we had 2 turnovers and we were much more effective in our three-point percentage”.
On the other hand, coach Joan Plaza wasn’t even pleased with the first half performance of Unicaja:
“We had a good start in the game but in the first half, they already had 70% in shots from two. We had problems with defensive balance the entire the game. In the second period, the intensity increased and we took poor shot selections. The key has been the increase of contact in his defense. They have scored 33 points running the floor and deserve the victory“.
