Panathinaikos might finish from 3rd to 6th in the EuroLeague standings depending not only on the result of their road game against Olimpia Milano, but also on what will happen in Olympiacos – Zalgiris Kaunas and Real Madrid – Brose Bamberg during the last round of the EuroLeague regular season.

These games won’t be played at the same time and PAO head coach Xavi Pascual thinks this should have been remedied during the previous summer.

“It’s not something depended on coaches. These talks should be made in summer when the teams meet with EuroLeague officials. I don’t think it’s right to comment on this. It should have happened in Round 1. My personal opinion is that in all competitions, the games whose results are connected and affect each other must be played at the same time,”  Pascual said.

“I repeat that the teams should have discussed this with the EuroLeague officials at the beginning of the season and come to an agreement,” he added.
