The CSKA Moscow coach commented about the game’s difficulties: “We were prepared to be more aggressive, but it didn’t work out and we had to start working. We realized we had to change immediately and we did that. We need to read every game. Every game is different, different circumstances.”
Itoudis was pleased with the win but focused on the next part of the season: “The win is important. It’s part of CSKA‘s history. I’d like to congratulate my players and coaching staff, though I wouldn’t like to give so many congratulations since this is not the end of the season [laughs]. It’s an important achievement, we did it, but we have a long way to go.”
The coach noted about his team’s injuries: “In 2016 we also had many injuries. We won the title because injuries united us.”
As for Nando De Colo, who rested tonight, Itoudis mentioned: “Nando has some pain in his back and we decided not to risk it and give him the proper time to recover.”
Coach Dusan Alimpjevic congratulated his players and commented the following: “It was a good game for us with confidence in offense, but we didn’t have the energy to play in every contact. I must save the energy of my players for the most crucial part of the season for us, the ABA league finals.”
