Maccabi’s come back fell short as Spahija’s team lost to Valencia in Spain 87 – 84 in the last game for both teams in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague for the 2017-18 season.

The game was close in the final period, but Valencia increased its lead to nine points (75-66) with Van Rossom and Dubljevic scoring in a variety of ways. Maccabi responded once again with Norris Cole and Deandre Kane scoring, making it a one-possession game with 42 seconds on the clock (85-82). The two teams converted on the free-throw line in the final seconds (87-84), and on the last possession, Itay Segev missed the deep three-pointer that would have tied the contest.

Vidoretta’s squad was up 15 points in the first half (51-36), shooting 79% from inside the three-point line. In the second half, the visitors came back and cut the lead to single-digits with a 2-16 run (57-55), led by Jonah Bolden.

The Spanish side had five players in double-digits, as Boban Dubljevic led the way with his 15 points and five rebounds. Sam Van Rossom was also impressive down the stretch, finishing with 11 points.

For the losing side, Norris Cole scored a game-high 22 points.

Valencia finished the season with a 12-18 record, while Maccabi slipped to 13-17.
