Anthony Randolph led Real Madrid to a 106-86 victory against Brose Bamberg. With this win, Madrid finished on the 5th place and will face Panathinaikos in the playoffs. The Greek side will have the home-court advantage because in the three-way tie between Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Madrid the “Whites” paid the fact that they lost twice to the Reds.
The winners had a great game and although Bamberg held on until the break, they just couldn’t keep the same offensive rhythm throughout forty minutes. Real Madrid broke their resistance in the third period and in the end, prevailed convincingly.
Randolph was the leader of Madrid in this game with 23 points, five boards, four assists and five steals. Jaycee Carroll added 19 points. On the other side, Daniel Hackett scored 17 in addition to Dejan Musli’s 16 points.
Except for the 7-0 start of the game in favor of Real Madrid, the contest during the first half (53-50) was pretty much balanced with constant shifts in the lead. Randolph had a perfect first quarter without a missed shot and scored 14 points while also stealing the ball three times in eight minutes of play.
Things change after the halftime, Real Madrid jumped to a double-digit lead in the third period and Brose Bamberg couldn’t react.
